Pilgrimage Tenugui (Hand Towel)
Pickup currently not available
The theme is "The 88 Temples of Shikoku."
I asked a designer to draw me walking the Shikoku Pilgrimage and the things I saw along the way.
Also, the phrase "Namu Daishi Henjo Kongo" is chanted by Shingon sect members to express their respect for the Great Master, or Kobo Daishi, Kukai.
How to use
It is intended to be worn around the head or used in hot springs.
Pilgrims wear umbrella hats called sedge hats, but wearing them directly can get hair caught in them, so they wrap a tenugui towel around them and then wear the hat over that.
That's why we made it with a cool color scheme that would match the sedge hat . We also chose the length so that it wouldn't get in the way when wrapped around the head, but wasn't too long.
What's more, when you hang it up after using it in the hot springs and see this design, you'll be excited!
Carefully selected materials
This tenugui is made of a Japanese fabric called "kinari" which has a slightly craft-like feel.
After much searching, I finally fell in love with this material and thought, "This is it!"
The real thing has an incredible atmosphere, so please look forward to it!
accessories
This tenugui comes with an explanation of the Heart Sutra.
During my pilgrimage, I struggled to chant the Heart Sutra and almost gave up, but after learning about its contents, I was able to chant it with great respect.
Even after completing the pilgrimage, I felt strongly that "it's important to know the meaning!!" so I included it.
